The Jungfraujoch is a glacier saddle (a connecting ridge) on the higher slopes of the Aletsch Glacier. It is part of the Jungfrau-Aletsch region and is located midway between Interlaken and Fiesch in Switzerland.
Note: You can get to Jungfraujoch only by rail. You can board the train either from the Kleine Scheidegg or Eiger Glacier stations, the details of which will be listed below.
Jungfraujoch is accessed via three key gateways: Interlaken, Grindelwald, and Lauterbrunnen. Interlaken acts as the main transport hub, while Grindelwald offers the fastest ascent via the Eiger Express. Lauterbrunnen follows the classic mountain railway route through Kleine Scheidegg. Both routes connect to the Jungfrau Railway, which climbs to Jungfraujoch—Europe's highest railway station.

While cars cannot go all the way up to Jungfraujoch, Grindelwald Terminal is the most convenient starting point for self-drivers. Park at the terminal and continue by Eiger Express + Jungfrau Railway for the fastest and most straightforward route to the summit.

Traveling by train to Jungfraujoch is a relaxed and scenic experience, although this journey takes between 25 and 45 minutes from the Kleine Scheidegg or Eiger Glacier stations.
The closest rail stations are Kleine Scheidegg and Eiger Glacier station. From both these stations, you can take the cogwheen railway to reach Jungfraujoch station.
The mountain is not accessible by car. However, you can park your car at the nearest train stations at Grindelwald, Interlaken Ost and Lauterbrunnen.
The easiest way to reach Jungfraujoch is by taking the Eiger Express tricable gondola from Grindelwald terminal to the Eiger Glacier station. From the Eiger Glacier station, you can take the train up to Jungfraujoch.
